THE IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING AND USING ENGLISH AS GLOBAL COMMUNICATION

 

The Importance Of Learnign English

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

The honorable the Judge of English Speech Contest, and the honorable teachers, brothers, and sisters and all of participans of English Speech Contest especially for all my friends in this occasion whom i love.

First of all, let’s pray to ALLAH Lord Of The World who has been giving us some mercies and blessings so we can attend and gather in this place in good condition and happy situation.

Secondly, may peace and salutation always be given to our beloved prophet MUHAMMAD SAW. Who has guided us from the darkness to the brightness from the stupidity to the cleverness by Islam Religion.

Standing in front of you all, i would like to deliver my speech under the tittle “The Importance Of Learning English”

Okay ladies and gentlemen, What do you think about english? and why is it important to learn English? In fact, I do not need to convey, we all know the answer. Right?

As we know a function of language is as an expression of ideas, feeling, information and any other through communication with other people by using language.

And English is the international language.

English language was applied as one international language. So we must mastering it and can speak english very well if we want to go to anywhere, and do communication with anyone all over the world and beside that many factors why we learn english. Some of them are : for finding job, traveling, interacting one each other, doing business, taking examination, doing research, get information and any other.

And another point about the importance of learning english are :

1.      with english we able to compete in the globalization era

2.      English is a key to open and master science and technology, because most  of scientists write their experts and inventions in English.

3.      As students of senior high school (SMA), we have to prepare ourselves by learning hard, particularly English as well as the other subjects at school.

Ladies and gentlemen,

            English is an International Language. Because this language is very universal and used for communicate among people around the world. English is the window to acquire knowledge. As we know, a lot of book, like ensiklopedia, discoveries,and inventions are written and published in English. we will not be separated from the English language, because this language can exist everywhere. like, on the computer, the internet, even in mobilephone. From this statement we can know that english is exactly beneficial for our life.

            Ladies and gentlemen,

            For me , English is very important. Because English allows me to develop and interact as social beings. In this case, developing means to follow the modern era of globalization. And compete for success as a student. And also , in this case the interaction is where we can communicate with the other people around the world. So, Its very important . Do you agree with me ? I hope so … That’s means English is very important for us.

            Ladies and gentlemen,

We are is Indonesian people, Indonesian people are very friendly. So, we have to communicate in english and tourism is growing. To reach this goal, we must mastering our traditional language, traditional custom, and own traditional habit. Cause it impossible to explain and introduce our culture to the foreigner if we don’t understand and be able speak english.

            Ladies and gentlement,

            There is a saying, “If you can speak English, you will be able to control the world so easily”. However, there are still many people who can not speak english. The main reason is they are lazy to learn english , because it’s not used in their daily lives. Some of Indonesian people may be think that it’s not necessary to be able to master english , because we live in indonesia,we speak indonesian language, and all our families are indonesian people. The others think that english is difficult lesson, so they are reluctant to learn english. But from now, we have to change our mind . Why ? Because we lives in modern era ,we have to compete with the other people. We have to reach our dream. It will be happen if can communicate in english, right ? There so many information we can get from the Internet. Its very  useful  for us as students. By internet, we can find information about everything to support our school. It will be easier if we know english well.

            Ladies and gentlemen,

            Moreover, English is a fun language and we can learn English in some easy ways. Well, now let me tell you how to learn English easily.

1.       Establish your intention and determination to master the English. If there is a strong will, the next, you will enjoy in learning English.

2.      The most important part of a language is vocabulary. You can set how many targets have to memorize the new vocabulary of  English in one day. The more you know the vocabularies, the more you will be able to speak.

3.      Learn English grammar, even though you have a lot of vocabulary. But try to make your growing vocabulary. The important basic is  you can control such as construct a true sentence.

4.      To train your hearing to hear the English, you can use English songs, listen, and compare it with the song lyric . Or you can also watch English TV programs, like news programs, English movies, and education program in English.

5.      Practice speaking English. Remember with “Practice Makes Perfect?” Of course, seriously works without practicing what you have learnt, it will be nothing, if you can’t practice all the things you have got. Start with a simple dialogue with your family or your friends.

6.      Don’t ever give up and feel afraid. Needs a quite long time, to be able speak English. Don’t ever feel afraid to makes mistakes. Because from mistakes, we can learn more and more, just feel confident whenever and wherever you try to practice it.

7.      The other way to practice English by following the English competition, like story telling, speech contest, guiding, etc.

Ok, Ladies and gentlemen,

I think that’s all of my speech. We can conclude, that the English is very important. So,learn English is also important.Those are some of the ways that I can suggest for you. If you are interested in one of them or some of them, why don’t you try to do it from now? I believe we can develop our English soon.
